From NATAN Chair, Daniel Kahn:
Rabbi Akiva, the renowned 1st century CE Jewish sage, famously taught that the essence of Judaism lies in the principle, “Love the other as yourself.” This simple and profound commandment encapsulates the core of Jewish teachings—love and respect for others. Emmanuel Levinas later universalized this ethic, asserting that “To be a human being is to be responsible; to be responsible is to be responsible before the other.”
These timeless values anchor and inspire our work at NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief. As we mark World Humanitarian Day, we are reminded of our collective duty to care for those in need. For 20 years, NATAN has embodied this mission, deploying professionals and volunteers across the globe to provide humanitarian aid in crisis-stricken areas.
This year, NATAN is actively supporting communities in Ukraine, Nepal, and Israel, while remaining vigilant to emerging global needs. World Humanitarian Day offers you the opportunity to join us in this vital work. By donating, you empower NATAN volunteers to make a difference on the ground, in your name.
