Alan Silberstein is president of Allston Associates, a strategic advisory firm specializing in retail financial services, fintech and turnaround management. He also has served on several corporate boards including Global Payments and Green Bancorp Alan retired as Chief Executive Officer of Western Union in 2001. Previously, he served in senior executive positions at Travelers Insurance, Midlantic Bank (now PNC Financial), and Chemical Bank (now JPMorgan Chase), Early in his career, before becoming a banker, Mr. Silberstein worked for the New York City Bureau of the Budget under Mayor John Lindsay, and as a design engineer for the Ford Motor Company. He serves as Chair of the Forward Association, publisher of the largest Jewish American publication, and is a member and chair emeritus of the Board of Visitors of Columbia University’s engineering school, a member of the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University, and treasurer of the Sister Rose Thering Fund for Education in Jewish Christian Studies at Seton Hall University. He also serves on the board of the Frederick O’Reilly Hayes Prize Foundation. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and also of Business Executives for National Security, where he works on intelligence matters. Mr. Silberstein received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from Columbia University and his MBA from Harvard. Alan has been supporting NATAN for the last 5 years.
