Haiti Earthquake Relief Operation

A major 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit Haiti on Saturday morning, 14 August 2021
More than 2,200 people are known to be dead and over 7,000 are injured. 40,000 homes have been destroyed.
NATAN volunteers are now on the ground in Haiti. They move from one small village to another, setting up field clinics and bringing life-saving medicine and supplies, attending some 30-50 patients each day.
This is a joint operation run by NATAN and our partners, Operation Blessing.

Haiti Earthquake 2021 - Aid for Survivors

NATAN worked in Haiti for more than a year following the deadly earthquake in 2010 (Read more). NATAN Teams returned to Haiti in August - September 2021 following the recent earthquake. Read the Field Diary of Dr. Sharon Kronfeld Shaul, NATAN team member in earthquake relief operation

One of the biggest challenges for the medical relief operation in Haiti is the poor condition of the roads. The last earthquake destroyed houses and killed people in remote villages that are not connected by paved roads and are very hard to reach. Nevertheless NATAN's team managed to visit and set up mobile clinics in several of such villages. Our small teams traveling in 4x4 vehicles are more agile and more mobile than many of the other, bigger aid organizations.
