Cucuta Wellness Tent - Opened October 2022

- rights and benefits for migrants under Temporary Protection legal status (Estatuto de Protección - EPS)
- processing of the Temporary Protection Permit
- family planning
10 workshops carried out on the following topics:
- Migration reality: concepts and life stories.
- "If he mistreats you, he doesn't love you"
- Right to health for migrants in Colombia.
- Busting myths about feeding in pregnant women.
- "Now I am a new woman"
70 participants attended the Workshops
- 60 women and 10 men
- Aged: between 15 and 66 years old

Background: Six million Venezuelans have fled in recent years, since their country’s economy and health system collapsed. This is the largest migration crisis in the world right now. Women are at the most risk as the rape of migrants has increased by 60% since the pandemic began. Of the six million Venezuelans who have left their country since 2013, nearly 2.5 million live in Colombia, which shares a 2,200km border with Venezuela, and which has in many respects presented itself as a welcoming neighbor. About 295,000 undocumented Venezuelans are in Colombia.

NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief is at the border of Colombia and Venezuela working with partner organizations HIAS and CADENA. The Center for Migrant Women in Cucuta, aims to offer a one-stop, holistic center for women and children who have been most impacted by the situation.

At present the Center includes a Medical Clinic – to provide primary care and emergency medicine for the women and children at the Center and the Wellness Tent - providing information, support and psychosocial care including trauma intervention for women affected by physical or psychological abuse, human trafficking, sex work, gender-based violence and other psychological problems.
