Background:
A catastrophic earthquake struck near Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains region of Morocco, on September 9, 2023, claiming the lives of 820 individuals and leaving more than 350 wounded. NATAN Worldwide Disaster Relief swiftly mobilized to provide critical medical and trauma care to the affected population. Within 24 hours of the devastating earthquake a NATAN team was on the ground, providing primary medical aid and trauma intervention.
The first team, composed of doctors, nurses, and assessment professionals, departed Saturday night, September 10, 2023. Their mission: to work shoulder to shoulder with local teams, leveraging their expertise to provide immediate support where it’s needed most. Their mission is to deliver primary care wherever it is needed most, drawing from their invaluable experience in responding to disasters around the world for two decades.
