From Daniel Kahn, NATAN Chair
“If you ever want to witness the great spirit of my nation, the great spirit of the nation of Israel, you can see it in hospitals and elsewhere around the country. You will find a united and committed people determined to prevail together and emerge victorious.”
-
President Isaac Herzog, October 9, 2023
Since the indescribable horror of Shabbat of October 7, we have all borne witness to an unprecedented level of commitment, volunteerism, and solidarity that is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. As mourning, anger, and the uncertainty of an unpredictable future have become part of daily life for Israelis and Jewish communities worldwide, NATAN’s role is clear: to alleviate the pain and restore hope.
NATAN is fulfilling its mission of disaster relief, this time right here at home. Join us, just as the Jewish Federation of New York and numerous individuals have already, in supporting our efforts.
“If I am not for myself, who will be for me? If not now, when?”

NATAN has expanded its operation to support Israeli civilian survivors of the Oct. 7th invasion.
This week, NATAN opened a large clinic in a hotel at the Dead Sea, operated together with Clalit Health Service and Maccabi Health Service, primarily serving evacuees from Sderot. All patients receive treatment regardless of ability to pay.
The clinic operates most of the day and evening, with a duty physician on call for late-night emergencies.
NATAN is working in close collaboration with Israel’s Homefront Command, the Ministry of Health, the local council and the country’s health services.
