Leigh M. Manasevit has practiced education law since 1974, beginning as a trial attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. As a founding partner of Brustein & Manasevit, PLLC, he established a practice in 1980 focusing on federal educational legal issues. He frequently appears before U.S. Department of Education tribunals and federal courts. Manasevit has worked extensively on No Child Left Behind, coauthoring a comprehensive manual on the act. A nationally recognized expert in special education, he successfully represented the State of New Mexico in Zuni Public School District 89 v. Department of Education before the Supreme Court.
