Danny Kahn

Chair

Danny has chaired NATAN since 2014. He previously had a distinguished career in informal education and played a key role in rescuing Jews from Muslim countries. He served as a senior officer in the Prime Minister’s Office and was the Director of International Development for World ORT in Geneva. Danny is married to Dolly; they have three children and seven grandchildren.

Alice Miller

Chief Executive Officer

Alice Miller, born in South Africa, made Aliyah to Israel at the age of six. Known for her landmark legal battle that opened the Israeli Air Force (IAF) pilot course to women, she is a pioneer in advancing gender equality in Israel. Alice holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Technion and an MBA from Tel Aviv University. Alice spent a decade as an officer in the IAF and two more decades in aerospace and technology in the private sector. Following the October 7th attack, she shifted her focus to humanitarian work. She lives in the Galilee of Israel and part time in India with her family.

Volunteer Management

Sharon Shaul, MD

Medical Relief Lead

Sharon is a graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Medicine and an expert in emergency medicine. She works at Poria Medical Center and leads NATAN’s medical operations in disaster areas. Sharon has directed multiple humanitarian missions worldwide and, since October 2023, has managed NATAN’s medical clinics for evacuees. She is married to Shlomo and is a mother of five.

Dr. Eitan Shahar

Psychosocial Aid Lead

Dr. Eitan Shachar holds a PhD degree in Social Work from Ben Gurion University. He is a lecturer at Ben Gurion University and Sapir Academic College. Eitan is a respected expert in community-based psychosocial development and defined NATAN’s psychosocial methodology. He has led multiple NATAN projects, providing support and training to trauma-affected communities worldwide.

Oded Regev

Logistics Lead

Oded has over 20 years of experience in administrative management and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Haifa. He currently manages small businesses at Kibbutz Maagan Michael. Oded has led numerous NATAN humanitarian field operations, including emergency logistics and supply chain coordination. He is also an active member of NATAN’s finance committee.

Anat Belluco

Human Resources Lead

Anat is a graduate of Ben Gurion University with a Master’s degree in psychology. With 35 years of professional experience, she has managed various aspects of Human Resources, including recruitment, training, and organizational development. Anat currently leads NATAN’s HR team and is the Project Lead for the Gaza Health Center, focusing on team welfare and operational efficiency.

Yael Fradkin

Special Operations Lead

Yael is an expert in operational management and emergency response. She has led multiple large-scale projects that require precise coordination and rapid deployment. Known for her innovative approach, Yael has been instrumental in designing NATAN’s unique programs, focusing on long-term community resilience and strategic relief interventions in Israel and abroad.

Udi Cohen

Education Lead

Udi holds a Bachelor's degree in Education and Masters degrees in Jewish Studies and Non-Profit Management. He has been the director of the Jewish Reform Movement’s kindergarten network and managed various educational and social organizations. Udi joined NATAN in 2017 as Head of Mission, where he leads educational initiatives and community programs, promoting resilience and social cohesion. Udi is married to Sharon, and they have three children.

Mike Attinson

Policy and Procedures Lead

Mike holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics, an MBA, and a second Master’s degree in Public Health and Disaster Management. He serves as a disaster response consultant to JDC-GRID and volunteers as a medic with Magen David Adom. Since 2010, Mike has been an active member of NATAN’s Board, leading its policy, ethics, and procedures team, and advising on strategic disaster response.

Adi Ramot

Founder and Public Health Lead

Adi is a Registered Nurse and Public Health manager with Masters degrees in Risk and Disaster Management and Health Administration. She was one of the initiators of NATAN’s first disaster relief operation in Sri Lanka in 2004. Adi oversees the nursing teams and public health initiatives at NATAN, specializing in long-term health solutions for vulnerable populations. She lives in Kibbutz Yotvata with her husband, Avi.

Dr. Dorit Nitzan

Medical and Humanitarian Advisor

Dorit is a pediatrician, dietitian, and epidemiologist. She served as the World Health Organization’s Regional Emergencies Director in Europe until 2022 and was previously Director of the Food and Nutrition Administration in the Israeli Ministry of Health. Since joining NATAN in 2022, Dorit has been involved in health programs in Ukraine and Israel and is currently leading the medical response for evacuees.

Gal Yoffe

Oversight Committee

Gal holds a Master’s degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Tel Aviv University. He specializes in humanitarian operations and deployment logistics. Since joining NATAN in 2016, he has led several missions, including managing the refugee aid operation in Serbia. He became NATAN’s Chief Operations Officer in 2017 and now oversees NATAN’s strategic field operations and emergency response.

Noam Leibovitchffe

Information Technology Lead

Noam holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the Open University of Israel. He is CEO at Badarom Technologies Ltd., a company he co-founded in 2011. With over 15 years of experience in IT and services, Noam has been volunteering with NATAN since 2020, leading the organization’s technology development and IT infrastructure to support its growing operations.

Gil Reines

Dental Care Lead

Gil holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and another degree in family mediation. Since 2013, he has led NATAN’s field operations in disaster zones worldwide. In 2018, Gil created and continues to lead NATAN’s mobile dental clinic projects, providing crucial dental care in underserved communities. He is also a member of NATAN’s finance committee, contributing his expertise in strategic planning.

Dr. Efi Carmi

Dental Clinics Chief Dentist

Dr. Effi Carmi has more than 25 years of experience as a dentist. As NDCI’s chief dentist, he provides direct patient service as well as training and monitoring of our other dental professionals He operates a private clinic in Moshav Olesh that employs five dentists and a specialist in oral hygiene and rehabilitation. Effi accompanied NATAN’s first dentists' delegation to the Syrian refugee camps in Serbia in 2018.

Shoham Yitshak

Haifa Dental Clinic Manager

Shoham was born and raised in Kibbutz Ramot Menashe. After living and working in São Paulo, Brazil, for nearly a decade in the security industry, Shoham returned to Israel and has been managing the Sports Department at Beit Halochem Haifa for 21 years. He joined NATAN’s dental clinic team in Haifa in 2021, and currently co-manages the clinic alongside his close friend Gil Reines, who introduced him to the organization. Shoham is also a graduate of NATAN’s Delegation Leaders course and takes pride in being part of this remarkable organization.

Helen Zelon

Newsletter Chief Editor

Helen Zelon is an award-winning journalist and nonprofit communications leader dedicated to social justice and highlighting underreported stories. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, she has a rich career in writing, reporting, editing, and mentoring. Helen joined NATAN as a volunteer several years ago and now serves as the Editor of NATAN's documentation and publications, including the monthly newsletter.

Therese Berkowitz

Design and Creative

Therese is a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan and has over 30 years of experience in advertising and graphic design. After immigrating to Israel, she volunteered with NATAN and became the organization’s chief designer. Therese’s work spans social media, print brochures, and annual reports, where her creativity enhances NATAN’s visual storytelling and donor engagement.

Nili Bresler

Editor and Writer

Nili has a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and Economics from New York University and a Project Management certification from PMI. She had a long career as a journalist and blogger before joining NATAN in 2014. From 2016 to 2023, she led NATAN’s Communications team, shaping its outreach strategies. She currently supports content development and strategic communications for the organization.

Ellen Hackman

Communications Strategy

Ellen is a communications strategist, specializing in brand messaging, culture building and business transformation for global companies. A graduate of Harvard Business School, she joined NATAN’s communication team as a volunteer in 2024.

Natali Mindov

Data Manager

Natali is a technology expert with over 20 years of experience in software development and database management. She holds an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Taurian Academy in Melitopol, Ukraine. Since 2020, Natali has been volunteering with NATAN, where she created and developed the organization’s comprehensive database system, enhancing its operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

Ira Luts

Ukraine Relief Manager

Ira holds a Master’s degree in Biology Education from Zaporizhya National University in Ukraine. After immigrating to Israel, she specialized in intercultural transition at the Kibbutz Seminary College. Ira manages NATAN’s Ukraine Resilience Training Program and the Community Resilience Center in Kharkiv, overseeing all NATAN initiatives in Ukraine, from psychosocial support to community health programs.

Zoe Sever

Ukraine Community Resilience Center Coordinator

Originally from Lviv, Ukraine, Zoe became an Israeli citizen in 1990. As an officer in the Israeli Defense Forces, she supported the families of fallen and wounded soldiers. Since the war in Ukraine, she has frequently volunteered with NATAN and is currently the organization's "boots on the ground" in Ukraine, providing crisis response training and working closely with local agencies. Zoe founded the United People Planet Foundation, supplying essential aid to civilians and soldiers. She also leads "Window to the World," a project that transforms bomb shelters into brighter, child-friendly spaces in hospitals and schools.

Rupa Maharajan (Nepal)

Nepal Project Coordinator

Rupa Maharjan,based in Nepal is a Development Studies Graduate and serves as the program lead for NATAN's initiatives in Nepal. With a decade of experience in the development sector, she has expertise on community engagement, partnership building and program management. She joined NATAN in February 2023, just before the launch of NATAN's Program HOPE in Nepal and has been instrumental in fostering strong community relationships and driving meaningful progress on the ground.

Orit Yulzari (Volunteer)

Nepal Project Lead

Orit Yulzary, co-managing a fund aimed at strengthening the resilience and well-being of educational staff in the Gaza envelope following October 7th. Orit is a mediator and an expert in community social work. She has held various management positions in the social and public sectors, including developing social services, training senior officials, and guiding social workers. Orit managed the Center for Living Together, which worked to promote a new social partnership in Israeli society. Orit is a mother of four and lives with her family in Kfar Harif.

Bruriya Noyberger

Ofakim Community Resilience Center Manager

Bruria Neuberger, resident of Ofakim, mother of nine, and grandmother to many, is an experienced educator with an M.A. in Organizational Consulting. She has previously managed a girls’ high school and a youth village for at-risk girls. Bruria now primarily consults for educational institutions, leads workshops, and specializes in resilience training.

Fida Shehadeh

Director of the Natan North Project

She is a social and political activist, an urban planner, and a former member of the Lod City Council. She serves as a co-chair of the "Itach-Ma’aki" organization, where she works extensively to promote women's rights. Additionally, she is a member of the board of directors at the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, contributing her expertise to the advancement of human and civil rights.
