Nepal 2016
Following the earthquake in 2015, 5 NATAN missions provided medical aid to about 2400 people in remote villages and trained more than 250 local professionals and leaders in trauma care. The program continued in the Dahding region with medical trainings for midwives and educators’ training in reproductive health.
The project aimed to provide TOT (Training of Trainers) on sexual and reproductive health education for community activitists, volunteer health workers and young adults in 4 rural VDCs of Dhading district. The project succeeded in raising awareness of health and hygiene, reinforcing women's health and safer childbirths.
The course was comprised of two different channels of training:
- Sexual and reproductive health education for young adults- dedicated to social workers, teachers and youth leaders
- Midwives' training for reproductive education and prevention of Gender Based Violence
